“If I get nominated, I’m going to throw a huge party in Chicago.”
And that he did.

On Tuesday, December 6th, The Recording Academy revealed not one but seven Grammy nominations for Chicago’s own Chance the Rapper.

If Best New Artist and three Best Rap Song nominations for his work on Kanye West’s “The Life of Pablo” weren’t enough, this young rap star also made history with his self-released project “Coloring Book” – making it the first streaming-only album to ever receive a Best Rap Album nomination.

Keeping promises made during last month’s Billboard interview, Chance threw a red-carpet reception at Metro Chicago with his closest friends and family. Taking a more low-key, intimate approach than most, Lil Chano from 79th bought out the bar, mingled with attendees, and thanked the crowd for their continuous love and support throughout his rapid rise to fame before riding the party out into the night.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled on February 12th 2017, because if Chance throws a party this epic just for being nominated, imagine what he’ll do when he wins.
