Inner-City Education (ICE) has been helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds overcome their life challenges since 2003.

The program offers academic scholarships, tutoring and mentorships to help give Cicero students the best chance to succeed in school – and on the ice.

It’s all thanks to the local businesses who built a skating rink where students can build their confidence, work on team building and pick up a sick slap shot in the process.

On February 16, two of our photographers, Dave Muniz (@davemuniz) and Liam Trumble (@liamtrumble), spent a day with ICE as the youth worked together to build circuits and charge their science knowledge before lacing up their skates.
